Myria A. Mack-Williams, M.D., Founder
and President
Myria is a graduate of the University of Virginia where she received her B.A. degree in 1991 . She earned a Doctor of Medicine degree from the Medical College of Pennsylvania in 1996 and subsequently completed her internship/residency training in Pediatrics at the Alfred l. duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, DE in 1999. She has practiced general pediatrics for the past 9 years and now is employed by The Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia at their Kids First office in Newark, De. Her primary responsibility and great satisfaction is to care for children ages birth to 18 years old. Dr. Mack-Williams is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She is a member of The Charmettes, Inc., Delaware Chapter. She serves on the board of directors for Delaware Futures which is an advocacy organization that prepares underprivileged youth for college. She also is a member of the Resurrection Center where she deacon in training and serves on the usher board. Above all, Dr. Mack-Williams
professes a deep love for Christ and lives a life sold out for Him. Her life scripture is Romans 12:1-2.
Jennifer Henry, Vice President
Jennifer brings over 10 years of administration experience in various industries ranging from marketing to human resources to financial. Currently, she is a trust officer for a private trust company in Wilmington, DE. She is pursuing her Bachelors of Science in Finance and Project Management. She has attended trust and fiduciary with The Cannon Institute, a leading institute in the fiduciary industry. She has years of volunteering experience with local prison and youth organization and the Bethel Temple Community Development Corporation including youth mentorship, conference coordination and grant research. Jennifer serves as a teacher, lay minister and vice president of one of the investment clubs at New Destiny Fellowship. In addition to being the mother of one, she is the owner of Meridian Business Solutions, an administrative solutions company for small business owners and start-up nonprofit organizations.
Jewel Hopkins,
Secretary
Jewel Hopkins is a graduate of the University of Delaware where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology in 1994. She has over 15 years experience working with youth and the community. Eight of those years were spent as a Family Crisis Therapist with the State of Delaware working with the students and families of the Colonial School District. Jewel is currently completing her Master’s of Science in Community Counseling at Wilmington University and interns at First State School in Wilmington Hospital. Her future plans are to pursue her licensure as a Professional Counselor of Mental Health in the state of Delaware. Jewel is a member of Living Waters Worship Center in Middletown, DE and is happily married with two children.
Keith Carter, Treasurer
Keith is a native of Charlottesville, VA. He received his
Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Virginia in
Religious Studies and Philosophy in 1991. In 2001, he completed
a two-year curriculum from Piedmont Virginia Community College
in Financial Accounting Analysis. Keith is currently
working on his MBA degree at Averett University. He is employed
at the University of Virginia Housing Division in
Charlottesville, VA as an Accountant/Budget Analyst and has
eight years of working experience in accounting and budget
analysis. He is a member of the Union Run Baptist Church located
in Keswick, VA and serves as a trustee, musician, and budget
analyst.
Brenda Wright Ed. D, Board Member
Dr. Wright is an Assistant Professor and Clinical Coordinator for the Master’s in School Counseling program at Wilmington University. For nearly twenty (20) years Dr. Wright has taught psychology, sociology, biblical studies, spiritual counseling, clinical studies, and community counseling at both the undergraduate and graduate levels for Wilmington University.
Prior to her career at Wilmington University, Dr. Wright served for three years on the Board of Directors for Urban Promise Ministries in Wilmington, Delaware. She was a member of the New School Task Force and a Consultant and Missionary Trainer. For four (4) years she was the Training and Development Director for the Joshua Counseling Center in Belvedere-Wilmington, Delaware. Dr. Wright developed workshops for community churches and the Joshua Counseling Staff in counseling related areas. She also supervised the Lay Biblical Counselors and College Student Interns. In the beginning of Dr. Wright’s career she gained twelve (12) years of valuable experience as a Mental Health Counselor for Catholic Charities in Wilmington, Delaware.
Brenda Wright is committed to the education and empowerment of all people. She has a particular passion for uplifting and edifying women. Dr. Wright has been dedicated to living a life of ministry. This has been her commitment in both her personal and professional life. She has developed and facilitated various workshops.
Dr. Brenda Wright received her Doctor of Education in Innovation and Leadership degree from Wilmington University in New Castle, Delaware. She took doctoral courses in Biblical Counseling at Trinity Theological Seminary in Newburg, Indiana.
Dr. Wright completed her Master’s in Mental Health Counseling degree at the University of Delaware, in Newark, Delaware. She received her Bachelor’s in Psychology (BA) from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Brenda Wright is married to who she affectionately refers to as her "Mr. Wright," Edward Wright. She is the mother of her only child Charitie Brown and a spiritual mother to many of the young ladies that she mentors. She is an avid reader and enjoys exercising at the gym and walking. Dr. Wright is a faithful member of Brandywine Valley Baptist Church in North Wilmington, Delaware.
Tamara Horsey, Board Member
Tamara Horsey is a graduate of the Cheyney University where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology. She has over 10 years experience working with youth and the community. Six of those years were spent as a Family Crisis Therapist with the State of Delaware serving Latin students and their families at Lewis Elementary. She is currently employed at the Latin American Community Center where she provides individual and group counseling to women who have suffered from domestic violence.
Kim Thomas, Board Member
Kim received her Bachelor of Science degree in Medical
Technology from Howard University in 1993. She is currently
employed by Merck & Co., Inc. where she is an Executive
Professional Sales Representative in Wilmington, DE. Kim has
been employed with the company since 1994. She is a member of
The Resurrection Center, formerly known as Eighth Baptist
Church, in Wilmington, DE. She is happily married to Craig
Thomas who is a State Trooper in Maryland. She enjoys spending
time with family and is actively involved in several ministries
at her church.
Darlene Shorter, Board Member
Darlene is a single mother of three children whom are all in college. She is a five year breast cancer survivor and a member of Sisters on a mission for over five years. She has spoken at several churches and schools on the importance of early detection. Darlene recently spoke on a panel concerning Health care reform, sponsored by the American Cancer society. She has been affiliated with the American Cancer society for over five years. She participated last year as a team captain for the Making Strides against Breast Cancer. She has also volunteered with the Big Brothers Big Sisters Bowl-a-thon. She mentor 7th graders at Kirk Middle school under the Creative Mentoring program.
Darlene has been in the medical field for over tweny-five years, starting out as a Phlebotomist in a local hospital. She then worked as a group leader for Labcorp overseeing numerous sites. She is a certified phlebotomist instructor and has worked as a Medical assistant instructor for a year. She then worked as an Externship Coordinator and Career Development specialist for three years.
She has been working clinical research for the past three years. She has worked as a Study Coordinator and Clinical studies associate. She is also co-owner with her brother of Life Resources Marketing.
Titania Renita Mack, Esq., Board
Advisor
Titania received her Bachelor of Arts in Law, Letters and
Society from the University of Chicago in 1997 and her Juris
Doctorate in 2001 from the New York University School of Law.
While attending NYU, she interned at the Legal Aid Society?s
Juvenile Rights Division in Bronx, New York where she
represented abused and neglected children.
After graduation from NYU,
Titania became associated with the
law firm of Richards, Layton & Finger in Wilmington, Delaware in
2001 and the Wilmington office of Greenberg Traurig LLP in 2004.
Titania was also admitted to the Delaware Bar in December 2001.
Her work involves representing corporate clients in litigation
concerning corporate governance issues.
Titania also represents
children in the Delaware Family Court under the guidance of the
Delaware Child Advocate. She is the Chair of the Multicultural
Judges and Lawyers Section of the Delaware State Bar Association
and in the past has served as Vice Chair of Legislative Affairs
of that section.
The Board of Directors has decided to
put their compassion to action through the work of The Bethesda
Clinic, Inc. Since being incorporated in March 2004, the Board
has:

- Searched for private and corporate
contributors
- Sought out grants and drafted
grant request letters
- Determined initial operating
budget
- Established corporate by-laws
- Created the organization?s
identity packet
- Enhanced the organization?s

- Actively pursued collaborations
with other non-profit organizations and pharmaceutical
agencies
